Tying vises have really improved over the last 25 years that I’ve been tying. You really cannot go wrong with any of the top vises produced by Dyna-King, Renzetti, HMH, Regal or Griffin. However, I’ve tied on all of them, and I tend to keep going back to Dyna-King vises. One in particular that I favor is the Barracuda. I can easily tie a size 24 fly all the way up to and 8/0 without making a lot of adjustments to vise. You also just cannot beat the hook holding capability on any of the Dyan Kings. The jaws are all cam locking.
