Introduction:

The Professional Series fly lines offer a wide range of floating and specialty lines designed by some of the most respected fly fisherman in the industry today. The Dan Marini Striper intermediate running line high density sinking head is one of the better performing lines of this type I have used.

On the Water:

The Dan Marini Pro Series Striper/Bluefish fly line casts well . I coupled the line with a Loomis 9.5 Ft. 4 pc 8 wgt. The line casts well and with very little effort. I fished the line on the flats for stripers for a total of 15 hours over 3 days and developed little discomfort in my casting muscularsture. I cast the line during calm periods and into significant winds. As with any low drag line which translates into smaller diameter lines; your sensitivity and touch improve which translate into sensing more takes and hooking more fish. I believe that the 275 grain line was a bit undersized for the Loomis GLX 8 wgt and will test the line on a lower modulus 8 wgt in the next few weeks. All in all I liked the line and would recommend it to other anglers. One word of caution however is that the line does sink quickly and as the flats shallow to 4 ft or so it is necessary to strip maybe a bit faster than you would like to keep the fly off the bottom. The DM line also comes in 375 and 475 grain as well.

Teeny TS 450 Saltwater Series
Construction-Quality The Teeny pro Series lines are well made from the head through the transition to the running portion of the line.4.5
PerformanceThe combination of a high density and thin diameter sink tip coupled with a larger diameter intermediate running line allow the angler to aggressively cast a reasonable distance into the wind without a bothersome number of line tangles. The architecture and weight distribution of the line also enables the caster to make quick short distance casts to take advantage of spontaneous angling situations.4.5
Price $62.00, 100% replacement warranty against manufacturers defects.4.5
Application Good weight compensated head / running line, designed for quick, long distance and accurate casts in most weather conditions.4.5
